Bird of Paradise

While walking through The Descanso Gardens, there was a wooded path lined with these magnificent Birds. They were all just Absolutely stunning, all of them just beautiful.
There was this one ~ It was capturing the sunlight in such a way that it looked like it was glowing from the inside.
And that is what is captured in this painting an inner glow.

It seems I am becoming more of a studio artist. The stolen moments of sketching and painting an image or a feeling on location is a luxury of the past. Today I'm photographing more and more and then coming home and working from my computer.

This painting in person is rich and vibrant, yet peaceful and restful.
