Me, at The More the Merrier exhibit

In December of 2018 I entered a show with my mask series. It was at Art Arc in San Jose.

At the opening reception a fellow artist approached me and suggested that my work would be a good fit for a San Jose Gallery called Kaleid. Then at the closing reception one of the musicians suggested the same thing. That I would be a good fit for a local Gallery.

The third week of May 2019 I contacted Kaleid, filled out an application and sent in a cover email telling them a bit about me and how I came to them. We emailed back and forth that morning and I was in. The following week I went in and installed nine of my masks.

I’m very proud to be represented by Kaleid Gallery in San Jose as well as The Main Gallery in Redwood City.

I was working on a third piece for my Venice Series, which is a mask, the series is done in watercolor. BUT because I was juried into Kaleid with my masks, well the mask I’m working on has taken a life and direction of its own. No longer a watercolor but an ever-evolving mixed media piece.

What I’m recognizing about being with Kaleid is that I have so much artistic freedom, and that is very exciting. Creative Freedom and a place to share it.

Life is Good

Parking is easy, there is a parking structure next door to Kaleid. It’s pricey $1.00 for 20 minutes during the work week and no more than $10.00 for the day. Not sure what it is evenings and weekends. Still it’s right next door and it also has an elevator. The parking structure is a real bonus when it comes to parking in the downtown area. There is also metered parking all over. Kaleid is across the street from The Great Martin Luther King Library in San Jose. And it’s three blocks for the San Jose Museum of Art and the San Jose Tech Museum.
