Otter Refuge, Big Sur

Otter Refuge, Big Sur

In the land of California’s coast,

Where the mighty Pacific roars the most,

Lies a place of beauty and allure,

A place that beckons, a place so pure.

Big Sur, the name it carries well,

A place where land and sea doth dwell,

A place of cliffs that touch the sky,

A place where seagulls soar and fly.

The ocean’s waves do crash and pound,

Against the rocks that do surround,

The sea mist rises up so high,

In Big Sur, you’ll surely find.

The mountains rise up to the sky,

A place where eagles soar and fly,

Where natures’ beauty knows no bound,

In Big Sur, it can be found.

The forests deep and dark and true,

A place where wildlife roams and grew,

A place of peace and solitude,

In Big Sur, it’s all so good.

But beauty hides a darker side,

A place where secrets do abide,

A place where shadows do exist,

In Big Sur, you cannot resist.

For in the night, when all is still,

The ghosts of past doth haunt and fill,

A place where mystery doth prevail,

In Big Sur, it’s not a tale.

So if you dare to venture there,

To Big Sur the land so rare,

Be sure to heed the warnings well,

For in this place, the secrets dwell.
