Recently – on the first of Aug. 2015 I was lucky enough to rent a studio amongst other artist studios. This is a completely new and very welcomed experience here at The Art Center of Redwood City and San Carlos.

Lonely home studio

For years I have worked alone in home studios and it’s lonely.

Working in my own studio among other artists is really nurturing. The artists offer feedback on what we are working on, and inspiration and learning about up coming shows and camaraderie.

The other thing is that I’m not just with watercolorists. The studios consist of oil painters, mixed media, acrylic painters and photographers. A few of the artist offer classes.

It’s inspiring to be among artists on a daily bases.

3-D ART DEMO

I’ll be giving an art demo for the Los Altos Art Club.

I think I’m pretty comfortable with public speaking. But how do you keep the audience engaged?

When I was asked several months ago to give a demo of course I said YES! I’m establishing myself in the area as an artist. I want my name out there in front of people every chance I can get.

So now what should the demonstration be about? How to paint a watercolor?

People are drawn to my 3-D pieces.

Should it be presented as a slide show? The process is too lengthy to complete in 45 minutes. Maybe a combination? One completed two in process and a slide show?
