Last Thursday I misplaced my cell phone. I didn’t really know it was misplaced until Friday morning when I really started looking for it.
The phone was off so I couldn’t call myself. The Verizon locater for some reason didn’t work, either because the phone was off or because I couldn’t hear it.
I looked in my coat pockets, the pockets of my hoodie, in the trash, the pantry, and the fridge. The couch cushions.
I had an appt about 15 miles from home Friday at noon and no navigation to get me there.
I was putting way to much energy into this lost device, this leash! I couldn’t check on Instagram updates or emails, the weather. Ha! What happened to going outside and looking at the sky?
The day I lost my phone I also happened to post a new piece titled "Emerging Frenzy" and that’s what Friday felt like frenzy. What a coincidence.
When I returned from the appointment I charged my vintage Motorola and thought I would contact Verizon later to activate the number. With this I relaxed into a knowing that the phone was lost some where in the house and that it may take a while to turn up.
And then it happened.
The next 32 hours were incredible. I was alone with our four fur babies. Home alone without my partner, or my android.
I may not have found my phone, but what I did find was far more valuable, a little more of myself, a self that has been neglected.
The Feminine Spirit, a self that has been drowning in a different kind of spirit.
I believe in the unknown because I know it in my heart.
And so I am,
A Woman Unleashed!
p.s. the phone was found Saturday evening in the pocket of my robe
As always, keeping the brushes wet,
